Cultural Sensitivity Awareness - Indian Health Services
MDA has a long-term commitment to provide culturally sensitive healthcare by recognizing that there are differences between cultures that can relate to interactions between healthcare providers and their patients.
The Aberdeen Area Indian Health Service was established to serve American Indians in North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa. Currently thirteen service units provide healthcare to almost 100,000 people on reservations located in the four-state area. MDA is proud to have served the Aberdeen Area Indian population since September 1992 and believe that understanding the diverse and rich culture is critical in providing quality healthcare.
